Understanding Dog Injuries and Health Conditions

Ortho Dog braces support a wide range of injuries and health conditions commonly faced by dogs throughout their lives.

Only your veterinarian can diagnose your pup and determine options for improved health or mobility. Please consult with your veterinarian for a diagnosis before ordering a brace. Be sure to communicate any symptoms you’ve noticed, the length of time you’ve been noticing those symptoms, and if any specific event or accident preceded the symptoms. This information will help the vet diagnose your dog. For example, an ACL/CCL tear is an acute injury, so there is usually an incident that precipitates the injury. However, with arthritis or hip dysplasia, the symptoms can progress over time as these are chronic issues.

If your dog is experiencing possible broken bones due to a fall or vehicle accident, open wounds, or breathing issues, seek immediate medical attention from an emergency vet.

Canine Health Conditions Supported by Bracing and Their Symptoms

There are many symptoms that can mimic multiple injuries, just like in humans. If your pup is experiencing limpness, lameness, swelling, or any of the following conditions, make an appointment with your veterinarian to determine the cause and potential solutions. Be sure to ask your vet if a brace may help.
