Top Dog / Co-founder / Co-president
As co-founder and co-president of Ortho Dog, Elizabeth has helped shape the company since the very beginning in 2002. Elizabeth is also a massage therapist and brings her expertise and knowledge of how the human body works to similarly support our canine companions.
Elizabeth and her wife, KC, have three rescue dogs (Annie, Abbie, and Sister) and a cat (Harvey). Annie and Abbie are both tripods. Sister and Annie are certified therapy dogs. Elizabeth has been taking Sister to hospitals and various care facilities for many years, but Sister is about to retire and Annie is going to step up and take over the job!
Top Dog / Co-founder / Co-president
Karen founded Ortho Dog alongside Elizabeth back in 2002. Karen has been a practicing chiropractor for over 32 years, and her expertise in the neuromusculoskeletal system has been essential to developing Ortho Dog braces.
Karen is a lifelong dog-lover, and her dog, Poppy, goes everywhere with her, including her chiropractic office.
Poppy uses the Wrist Wrap brace when she hikes. She loves to come to the shop for visits with her Ortho Dog pack.
#1 Pawponent / Support
KC couldn’t have been happier to join the Ortho Dog pack when she married co-founder Elizabeth. As co-companion to dogs Annie, Abbie, and Sister, KC has a big love for dogs of all shapes and sizes. She is an ardent supporter of and believer of Ortho Dog’s mission.
She wears many hats at Ortho Dog and provides support with shipping and assembling braces. She also builds tables for the sew shop and amuses the entire team with her special brand of humor.
Ash came onboard as Ortho Dog operations manager and the humans and the hounds couldn’t be happier to have her on the team.
As a lifelong animal lover, she has often extended her practice as a Healing Touch provider to pets. Ash also brings years of experience and extensive training as a Massage Therapist, and she is enthusiastic about extending her knowledge of the human body to canines. She is passionate about Ortho Dog’s mission and having the opportunity to help dogs on a daily basis!
Ash’s house has always been a landing pad for rescues. She currently lives with two unruly cats Figgy and Yūki, and the very sweet Yarrow dog. Yarrow goes where she goes and has also joyfully joined the Ortho Dog pack.
Jen of All Trades
Jenna floats between our Ortho Dog office and the sew shop, where all of our braces are made by hand. When she’s not making harnesses, preparing orders to ship, or helping customers find the right braces for their pups, she can be found frolicking in the mountains with her senior rescue dog, Toby Jones. Toby loves all kinds of adventures with his new family, especially coming to work with Jenna and being part of the Ortho Dog pack.
Fun fact: Jenna spent years traveling the country as a singer-songwriter and made many furry friends along the way at concert halls and coffee shops from the Cascade Mountains to the coast of Maine. She is a dog lover through and through! Her dream of being a dog mama brought her to Asheville so she could provide a forever home for a tail wagging friend-to-be. If you’re a music lover or need a lift today, check out her song Angels on the Subway with the lyrics “muddy pawed angels like to jump up on your lap.”
