Unlike other dog breeds, German Shepherds have natural slopes on their rumps, from mid-back to the tail. This slope causes them to appear shorter than they are when measured for height. That means when you follow our measurement guidelines, German Shepherds may measure for a medium brace based on height, but they actually need a large brace.

Most German Shepherds will require a large Hip Hound Brace or Cruciate Care Knee Brace with a large or extra large harness. If your German Shepherd has measured for a medium brace, please email us at info@orthodog.com before you order.
