Life on a cattle ranch is hard work and when one of the team is down, everyone feels it. Ortho Dog customer, Miley, wore the Cruciate Care Knee Brace to get “back in the saddle again” after the pitbull tore her CCL and is now happily doing the rounds.
Miley’s Sweet Home on the Range
Miley is a beloved rescue pup. Her humans say they “stumbled upon” her and she “turned out to be one of our most loving and sweet dogs.”
Before tearing her CCL, Miley would spend her days running out in the pastures as her team checked on the cattle.
She regularly ran for miles and miles at a time. Then one day, in the spring of 2024, she returned from the fields limping and holding her hind leg up.
Miley’s human, Matt, tried other dog leg braces but they didn’t work well and wouldn’t stay on her leg. Then he found Ortho Dog.
After receiving the new brace, Matt worked with Ortho Dog’s fit specialists to make adjustments to get an exact fit for Miley. It took a few emails and photos sent back and forth but all that hard work payed off! Miley’s healing journey had begun.

Recovery: Miley’s Ortho Dog Experience
After just a little over three months with Miley wearing the knee brace almost every day, her humans decided she didn’t need it anymore. “We did countless leashed walks… your brace worked so well and held up to a lot of abuse. She’s now moving and running free in the back yard and seems to have made a full recovery.”
These days Miley no longer favors her leg and puts full weight on it. The pitbull also lost about ten pounds which reduces the strain on her knees and joints. According to Matt, if all goes well over the winter, she’ll get to run free in the pasture again next year.
